Description
This is an informal practice day to consolidate safety and rescue skills. The venue is Yellow Rock Lookout (above the Nepean River, follow Singles Ridge Rd from Winmalee) . The day will be very much do your own thing and learn from each other. I will have some ropes and rope protectors. Bring your own ropes. You can practise abseiling, try different descenders and ascenders, learn to tie knots, prussik, tie off, lower using a munter hitch, pass a knot and top belay. Mechanical advantage systems will be used to practise rescues. Please let me know if you will join us and arrive whenever you like. We will start at 1030. I will have prussik cords for people who would like to learn to prussik.

This day is for members who are in the UBMBC canyoning program. A learn to abseil day for members will be held soon.
